Most people spend decades working towards retirement without ever sitting down to properly plan for it. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to assume things will work themselves out. But when retirement comes closer, the questions start to mount up. How much do I actually need? Am I on track? What do I do with my pension pots? We help you answer all of them, clearly and without jargon.

How do you financially plan for retirement?

There is no single right answer, because everyone’s situation is different. But the starting point is always the same: understanding where you are today and where you want to get to.

We look at your existing pensions, savings, investments, and any other assets, and we build a clear picture of what your retirement could look like. From there, we work with you to close any gaps, make the most of what you already have, and put a plan in place that gives you genuine confidence about the future.

The questions we help you work through

How much do I need to retire comfortably?

This is the question most people start with, and it is a good one. The answer depends on the lifestyle you want, when you want to retire, and what other income you might have. We help you work through this in a way that feels real and achievable, not just theoretical.

Am I on track with my pension?

Many people have multiple pension pots from different jobs and have lost track of what they have. We can help you gather everything together, assess whether your current contributions are enough, and explore whether consolidating your pensions makes sense for your situation.

Do I need a financial adviser for retirement planning?

You are not required to use one, but the decisions you make around retirement can have a significant and lasting impact on your financial security. Getting professional, Chartered advice means your plan is built around your specific circumstances, not a generic template. Many of our clients tell us that having a plan in place gave them a peace of mind they did not expect.

When should I start planning for retirement?

The honest answer is: as early as possible. The earlier you start, the more options you have and the more time your money has to grow. But it is never too late to put a proper plan in place, even if retirement is just a few years away.

While pensions and investments can help support long-term retirement goals, investment returns are not guaranteed and the value of investments can fall as well as rise. Any recommendations we make will take account of your circumstances, objectives and attitude to risk.

What happens to my pension when I retire?

This is where things can get complex. You have options around how and when you access your pension, and the decisions you make at this stage can affect your income for the rest of your life. We guide you through those options carefully, making sure you understand what you are choosing and why.

How we approach retirement planning

We do not believe in setting a plan and leaving you to it. Life changes, tax rules change, and your priorities will evolve over time. We build long-term relationships with our clients and review their plans regularly to make sure everything stays on track.

Acting in your best interests is at the heart of our approach. Every recommendation is carefully considered and tailored to your individual circumstances, ensuring the advice you receive is both appropriate and aligned with your long-term objectives. While this is a regulatory obligation, it is also the principle on which we have built our business.

What to expect when you get in touch

Our first meeting is at our cost, with no obligation. It usually lasts between 30 minutes and an hour, and it is simply a chance for us to understand your situation and for you to get a feel for how we work.

If we believe we can help you, we will explain how. If we don’t, we will tell you that too.

Few Questions

Tell us about your situation.

There are no right or wrong answers. Just tell us where you are and we will show you what is most relevant to your position.

Testimonials

From our lovely partners.

Whether you are preparing for retirement as a business owner or considering your family’s long term financial future, we provide thoughtful guidance you can rely on at every stage.

Dean has provided clear and comprehensive advice on a range of investment matters aligned to my family and retirement goals. In particular, he has been patient in exploring and explaining my pension options, alleviating any concerns I previously had with investments. He collated the information from my various pension holders and presented me with a range of options, ensuring I understood the risks and benefits of the different pension vehicles I could use. I was reassured by his knowledge and guidance and have no hesitation in recommending Dean as a financial advisor to friends and family.
